Ebbsfleet

I was listening to Jeremy Vine the other day on good old radio 2. They had a feature on Ebbsfleet (which for those of you who don't know is near to Northfleet/Gravesend and is home to the new international train station). Lots of houses going to be built there, gateway for the Olympics - all that sort of bollocks. Anyway, in true journo form, they sent out a reporter to ask people on the street what they thought of plans to built a massive statue to rival the Angel of the North. I cringed as I listened to the locals reply to the reporter's questions in pigeon English asking why they didn't do something for Northfleet instead and telling him that they already had a local football team. These people were the stupidest people you have ever heard. Why oh why do they send someone out to ask these twats what they think when the people who are bright enough to understand what they are talking about and would have something sensible to say are all at work or doing something meaningful with their lives instead of aimlessly wandering the streets of Northfleet?
