The morning chorus

We had a late night last night. We had a late night the night before that too. I didn't have a lie in yesterday because I had to get up relatively early to go out looking for suits with the best man. Amanda and I had gratifyingly polished off three bottles of red between us the night before. Needless to say, I wasn't 100% yesterday morning. After the suit searching the best man brought his new lady friend to meet us for dinner. We had a really, really good evening. The company was great and the food was immensely wonderful. Amanda managed to tick off one of her lifetime ambitions - to eat a whole lobster. Well done that girl.

So, bearing in mind what I've already said, you can quite understand that I would be looking forward to a nice lie in this morning.

Now don't get me wrong, I am partial to a bit of DIY. But not in the early hours of a Sunday morning with some sort of power saw in my back garden. Someone over the back clearly disagrees, because he was out there doing it to the detriment of my Sunday lie in. As if that wasn't enough, the wood pigeons started - the incessant "whooo whooo-hoo" increasing my state of alertness. Then, the neighbour's bit of stuff across the road decides to roar up on his noisy motorbike. He just let that tick over and gave it a few too many revs before switching it off. Together, they have managed to ruin my morning. I hate them all.

Have a look at this and you'll know exactly what I mean:
